Waldhotel Mellestollen in Saalfeld

We have been here again to eat. The food was again very tasty, especially the Thuringian dumplings are to our taste.

Clean and very friendly staff! Everything your heart desires, the breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. 🙂

The hotel in the service area is okay. The good Thuringian cuisine and the original breakfast should be emphasized. You have to accept compromises with the hotel room and the use of the WLAN. The wet part (bathroom) is much too small to feel comfortable all around, the WLAN is often not compatible and therefore not usable.

The landscape around the hotel is very beautiful. Hence the 2 stars. Unfortunately, the service and friendliness in the hotel left a lot to be desired. Mistakes made by the staff are not excused, but played down reproachfully and unfriendly, so that you as a guest still have to feel guilty. The rooms are not recommended. Unfortunately, they are far from what you can see on the website. The appearance dims! A shame :-(

Super. We were here with our self-help group. We can only recommend it, very nice hotel, a great team, good food, just a special flair. So dare to take a trip to Saalfeld.

Very nicely located hotel, in the middle of the forest, with a restaurant and even an old tunnel that can be visited on a guided tour. Very nice staff, everything was very well maintained. We were in the winter garden and that was very pleasant. The food was just great, really Thuringian dumplings, which were just brilliant. All roasts were tender and there were no complaints. No long wait. Price performance is okay. Definitely to be recommended.

Really great hotel. There is nothing to complain about. A great place to go for people who like to spend the night quietly. Mega friendly staff, delicious food, clean rooms. Uncomplicated when it comes to extending a night. I can really only recommend it.

A wonderful hotel, remote in a fairytale forest, a very courteous staff with a high level of service and excellent cuisine. Breakfast also stands out clearly. The sauna area and the whole hotel itself are lovingly and heartily designed. People like to be a guest here! If Thuringia, then the Waldhotel am Mellenstollen!

Well-kept small hotel in a quiet, elevated location. The atmosphere is pleasant, familiar and friendly. The rooms are small, very clean and furnished with love. We had dinner in the restaurant, were served friendly and the food was modern and delicious. A petting zoo with goats, a pony and a donkey, as well as a well-kept tennis court, a bowling alley and a playground complete the offer in the object. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back for hiking in better weather.

Those who like forest air, peace and the chirping of birds are in good hands here. A small hotel on the mountain, surrounded by a lot of forest. The rooms are neat and clean. The staff is friendly and courteous. The breakfast was plentiful and varied. The car has its own parking space in the hotel's own parking lot and there are enough of them. The hotel also has a dining room. There you can eat and drink after an eventful day. Delicious. Again, the staff is very attentive. My conclusion: next year we will be taking another week's vacation here. Again and again.

We've been in the restaurant with 2 small kids and it was a great experience. Staff was super friendly and patient. Food was delicious and we had a lot of space. Toilets are incredibly clean (always a good sign)
